Question How should I do my makeup for the Renaissance Festival?
I am going as a woodland elf warrior. I am stuck on how to do my makeup, and not sure what would look best with what I've got...I will be wearing a reddish-brown leather corset with a brown shirt underneath, and a forest green suede skirt.
Best Answer Start with a foundation that matches your skin tone to the letter, but avoid those that provide extreme coverage, makeup that's too heavy when worn with those colours can make you appear clownish, which is not the look you're probably going for. If you have flawless skin, you might want to consider a tinted moisturizer that gives your skin a dewy glow, followed up with a light dusting of translucent loose face powder. When it comes to your cheeks, easy does it. Don't try to match the shade of the blush to the color of your outfit, unless you normally use red-toned blushes. If you do, consider using cream blush. Cream blushes and blush tints are blended into the cheeks using the fingertips or a special blush applicator. When you use a cream blush, the shade you see in the mirror is what you'll see an hour from now, unlike powder blushes, which can darken once they seep into your skin. There won't be any surprises. When it comes to the windows of your soul, the "smokey eye" is perfect for this occasion. It might take a while to master this makeup technique, so you may want to practice before the day. Apply light concealer below your eye and above the lid and blend well. Line your eyes (top and bottom lid) with a black or charcoal pencil; smudge using a cotton swab or a small eye makeup brush. If you like, you can apply a charcoal-colored eye shadow along the pencil line to soften the look even more. Next apply shadow in a light neutral tone all over the eye, blending into the area of the brow bone. You can stop at this step, if you like, or you can choose to apply a slightly darker eyeshadow from your lash line to the crease, as well as emphasize the crease with an even darker color. Always remember to blend, blend, blend, this is the key to the "smokey eye" look. Add two or three layers of waterproof mascara, or only one if you have naturally great lashes. Your lashes should look thick and long, never clumpy. Here's where the natural hue of your lips plays an important role, and if they are naturally red, enhancing their natural color will look entrancing. However, if you've never been able to wear dramatically red lipstick, or if it makes you look like a little girl who got into Mom's make-up, it's best to go with a sheer tone that's closest to the natural color of your lips. Whatever shade you opt for, consider applying sheer lip color, rather than a "full coverage" lipstick.

Question A leather corset and bustier fiend looking to have one made?
Anyone know where I can have a boned corset / bustier made? I'm looking to have one made in brown leather and various other materials. They will be simple, but the only place I've managed to find online is for victorian styles. I'm sure there are other leather lovers out there. I'm looking for detailed niformation like: - links to sites - names of companies (or numbers) - contact information of fashion design students needing to prepare a portfolio. (NY,NJ, PA) area.
Best Answer http://www.corsetted.com/shop.shtml has links to a multitude of corset makers along with contact information. www.staylace.com is another good starting point about corset information.
