Question Can I sew garment leather on a regular sewing machine?
How else does it differ from fabrics? What thread to use and stitch? I sew as a hobby and consider my self an intermediate level seamstress. I want to make a renaissance leather bodice out of a recycled jacket from goodwill.

Best Answer Anything much heavier than pigsuede is too heavy for most home sewing machines. You can get a little heavier with an old treadle machine, but not much. Use polyester thread and a long straight stitch. Try on scraps first. And you'll want a leather (cutting point) needle. Question What color socks & shoes with a formal infant dress?
My baby girl has a dress that has a tan/goldish & light teal floral bodice with a solid light teal skirt. I've searched & can't find any newborn shoes that come close to the tan/gold color & she has to wear socks! So what color socks & shoes do you think would look good???

Best Answer She's going to look so pretty in her dress no one will even notice her feet :-) Little girls always look cute in the shiny patent leather dress shoes. I would go w/those and just some neutral colored socks.
